Webcam Viewing Instructions
You can view video using Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher. When you first go to the puppy cam, an ActiveX component (ocx file) may need to be downloaded and installed on your PC. You will be prompted to install this ocx file if it is not present in your system.
Note, if you are running Windows XP under default security settings, Windows will block the downloading of the ocx file as it is not 'signed'. To prevent this blocking and allow installation of the file, take the following steps:
- In Internet Explorer, click on 'Tools', then 'Internet Options...'
- Click the 'Security' tab
- Click the 'Internet' icon, then 'Custom Level...' button
- Scroll down to where it says 'Download unsigned ActiveX controls' and change the selection from 'Disable' to 'Prompt'.
- Below that, change 'Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe' from 'Disable' to 'Prompt'.
- Click the 'Okay' button (twice) to close the dialogue box.
Now when you go to the web cam, you will be able to say 'yes' when asked to install the ActiveX controls.
